Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2026 · Kindness Community Foundation LLC · Newport Beach, California, USA

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Meetings Brief (the 'Service'), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Meetings Brief is provided by Kindness Community Foundation LLC ('KCF', 'we', 'us', or 'our'), a California-registered organization located in Newport Beach, CA 92660. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Free Service — No Warranties

Meetings Brief is provided free of charge as a public service by KCF. The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We strive to maintain high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

3. Permitted Use

You may use Meetings Brief for lawful personal, educational, nonprofit, or commercial meeting productivity purposes. You agree not to: use the Service for any illegal purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service; use the Service to store or transmit harmful, abusive, or illegal content; or impersonate any person or entity.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all notes, text, and content you capture using Meetings Brief. By using the Service, you grant KCF a limited, non-exclusive license solely to provide the Service to you (e.g., to temporarily process your notes through AI features). We do not claim ownership of your content.

5. Recordings and consent

Meetings Brief can transcribe a recording you provide, but it does not make the recording and it cannot know whether you were entitled to make it. Obtaining any consent required is your responsibility. Recording law varies by jurisdiction — some places require only one party to a conversation to consent, while others, including California, require every participant. Your employer's policy may be stricter than the law. Announce recording at the start, note it in the invite, and do not record where anyone has objected. You may not use the Service to process a recording you obtained unlawfully.

6. AI output is not verified

Summaries, action items, extracted owners and deadlines are generated by an AI model and can be wrong, including confidently wrong. Attributing a task to the wrong person is a known failure mode. Read AI output before acting on it or sending it to anyone, and do not rely on it as a legal, financial, medical or compliance record. Transcription accuracy likewise depends on audio quality and is never guaranteed.

7. Anonymous workspaces

A workspace is created for you without an account, which means it is tied to the browser you created it in. If you clear your browser data, use private browsing, or switch device without first adding an email address, that workspace and its notes cannot be recovered — by you or by us, because we have no way to identify you as its owner. Adding an email address is what makes recovery possible. Export anything you cannot afford to lose.

8. Intellectual Property

The Meetings Brief application, its design, code, branding, and content (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by KCF LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The name 'Meetings Brief', 'KCF', and 'Kindness Community Foundation' are protected marks.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KCF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed USD $0, as the Service is provided free of charge.

10. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Orange County, California.
