Follow-up email generator

Meetings Brief's follow-up email generator turns your meeting notes or transcript into a ready-to-edit email: a subject line, what was decided, who does what by when, and the next step. Choose who it is for (the people who were there, someone who missed it, or a client) and the tone. It is free, and you send the email yourself.

Or drop a .vtt, .srt or .txt transcript file here.

What it does not do

  • It does not send email, and it does not know anyone's address.
  • It is told to use only your notes and never to make up names, dates or promises. Read the email before you send it.
  • It keeps no history: copy the email before you leave.
  • It does not listen to audio. For a recording, use audio to text first; the audio stays on your device.

Want the notes written for you next time? Live meeting notes writes the transcript during the meeting and gives you the brief when you stop. Tell the people in the meeting first.

An email people act on

What a follow-up email has to say

Four things: what was decided, who does what, by when, and the next step. Keep it short: the people who were there do not need the discussion again, and the ones who were not need the outcome, not the debate. More on timing and wording in how to follow up after a meeting.

Who it is for changes the email

  • The people who were there: a line of thanks, then the decisions and the tasks.
  • Someone who missed it: one or two lines on what the meeting was about first, then what was decided and what it means for them.
  • A client: what was agreed and the next steps on both sides, with dates. Internal remarks are left out; check that nothing private slipped through.

Sending it

This generator does not send emails. Copy the email into Gmail, Outlook or any other email program, or press “Open in my email app”: it opens the email program on this device with the subject and message filled in. A long email is put on your clipboard to paste instead. You add the people and press send. If nothing opens, this device has no email program set up; use “Copy email” instead.

If nothing was decided

Say so plainly. Add a line to your notes such as “No decision yet; we meet again Tuesday”, and the email will carry it. An honest “still open” is more useful than a recap that hides it.

What happens to your text

The text is sent to Anthropic's AI to write the email, and it is not used to train AI models. This page has no account and keeps no history. For a long transcript, the finished email is held temporarily in private Supabase storage so this page can retrieve it again if a response is interrupted. It becomes eligible for daily cleanup after one day, normally completing within two days; outages can delay removal. Reading the result does not delete that temporary copy. The details are in section 4 of the privacy policy.

Questions people ask

Is the follow-up email generator free?

Yes. There is no account, no paywall and no credit card. There is a daily limit per browser so the service stays available to everyone.

Does it send the email for me?

No. Copy the email, or press “Open in my email app” to open your own email program with the subject and message filled in. You choose who gets it and press send yourself.

Will it make things up?

It is told to use only what is in your notes and never to invent a name, a date or a promise. A task with no owner in your notes is marked Unassigned. Read the email before you send it.

Can I use a transcript instead of notes?

Yes. Paste it, or drop a .vtt, .srt or .txt file, such as the one Teams or Zoom saves. Long transcripts are read in sections first, so they take longer.

Which language will the email be in?

It is asked to write in the language of your notes. Check it before you use it.

Is my text stored?

This page has no account and keeps no history. The text is sent to Anthropic's AI to write the email and is not used to train AI models. Copy the email before you leave. For long input, the finished result is temporarily held in private server storage. It becomes eligible for daily cleanup after one day, normally within two days; outages can delay removal.
